Prof. William Gabriel Brafu-Insaidoo

Associate Professor of Economics; former Head of Department

Prof. William Gabriel Brafu-Insaidoo served as Head of Department during a period of significant expansion in the Department's research output, institutional partnerships and programme portfolio. He brings more than twenty years of teaching, research and policy consulting experience at the University of Cape Coast and with international organisations.

His research focuses on fiscal policy, monetary policy, international finance, domestic revenue mobilisation and development economics, with particular emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa. He is an active researcher within the African Economic Research Consortium and has twice held the status of AERC–IMF Visiting Research Scholar. He has consulted for United Nations agencies including UNDP, UN-FAO and ILO, and has worked with development organisations including AGRA. He has also worked with the Institute of Economic Affairs in Ghana, the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and the Africagrowth Institute in South Africa.
